Architectural Floor Plans (large)
Notes: 1/4' scale if possible - or 1/8" scale if 1/4" scale Plans are not necessary or would divide the Building into an excessive number of Sections
Checklist
Dimensions
- Overall.
- Column centers and designations.
- Building breaks and set backs.
- Masonry dimensions.
- Dimensions from column centerline to exterior wall line.
- Tie room dimensions into column centerlines.
- Check Structural Plan dimensions with Architectural Plan dimensions.
- Verify that interior dimensions add to yield overall.
- Clarify as to exactly where a dimension starts and terminates.
- Do not extend one dimension line through another - see "Graphic Symbol" Section.
- Dimension finish wall to finish wall where necessary.
Room Designations
- Name, Number.
- References to large scale Details.
Finishes
- Check Finish Schedule for each room for clarity.
- When two finishes occur on floors, walls, etc., in an area, clearly define extent of each and how terminates if they converge.
Interior Walls and Partitions
- Clearly define construction (new and existing).
- Clearly define height.
- Clearly define unusual items in Walls (insulation, sound deadening, rated walls, etc.)
- Define which Partitions extend to structure above and how attached (parallel to structure - perpendicular to structure) (cell closures at metal deck, etc.).
- Define Partition construction penetrated by Ductwork.
- Dust Partitions
- Verify Chase Wall thickness for Plumbing pipes.
- Caution: If some Partitions extend through ceilings and some abut ceilings of a suspension system, wall angles of suspended grid should have a place to terminate.
- Refer to example of "Clarification of Partition Designations" at the end of this portion.
