Frame and Door Schedule
Checklist
- Door or opening number (mark) same as appears on Floor Plans.
- Frame width and height (example: 3'-4" x 6'11").
- Type (A, B, etc., which are represented by elevations).
- Door description (example: "flush hollow metal exterior type")
- Remarks - any clarifications necessary in regard to Door or Frame (example: "B" label Door and Frame (08112)).
- Note that the thickness of all Doors are the same unless otherwise noted and all Frames are of the same material unless otherwise noted (example: "all doors shall be 1-3/4" thick - all frames shall be hollow metal"). 7.Rating and classification for fire-rated Doors (example: 1-1/2" HR (B) for wood Doors (B) for metal Doors). Avoid the use of labeled wood Doors.
- Check maximum allowable size Frame, Doors and transoms for those fire-rated.
- Transoms and side Panels, vision Panels, and fully Louvered.
- General note referring to HVAC Floor Plans for Doors to receive Louvers and undercutting (example: See 1/35, 1/36, and 1/37 for Doors to receive Louvers and undercutting").
- Doors associated with Storefronts, automatic Doors, etc. shall be elevated by use of the elevation designation appearing on the Floor Plans. Door and Frame designation appearing on Floor Plan shall reflect only the Door or opening number in the top of the circle. The bottom portion of the circle shall be shaded.
- Roll-up and overhead Doors may be elevated by use of the building elevations. Door and Frame designation appearing on Floor Plan shall reflect only the Door or opening number in the top of the circle. The bottom portion of the circle shall be shaded.
- Elevator Doors need not be elevated or scheduled as all information may be given in conjunction with the Elevator Sections.
- Check stairwells for properly rated Doors, Frames, and Hardware.
- Caution: To secure a lifetime warranty (when specified) on wood faced Doors, the distance between the edge of the Door and the lite opening and/or Louver opening or between adjacent cutouts which includes lites, louvers, locks, closures, or other Hardware cutouts, shall not be less than 5".
- Caution: Plastic faced Doors require 8" between edge of Door and lite and/or Louver on Door up to and including 30" wide and 10" on Doors over 30" wide. Distance between cutouts of lites, louvers, locks, closures, and Hardware cutouts shall not be less than 5" as for wood faced Doors above.
- Hardware Specification Check:
- Weatherstripping on all exterior Doors.
- Rain Caps at Door heads where necessary.
- Exit devices where required.
- Weatherstripping and/or sound seals on interior Doors where required.
- Miscellaneous Millwork Hardware for Gates, etc.
- Electronic Hardware - coordinate with Electrical Drawings.
- Hardware for entrance Doors (aluminum).
- Thresholds - Coordinate with Door Frame Sill Details.
- Emergency Stop at Hospital Toilet Room Doors - use cased opening type Frame (frame without stop).
